DE KUYPER WINS TWO TROPHIES AT INTERNATIONAL SPIRITS CHALLENGE 2019 DUTCH DISTILLER IS “LIQUEUR PRODUCER OF THE YEAR” AND CHERRY HEERING SCORES BEST IN LIQUEURS
De Kuyper Royal Distillers has been awarded two trophies in the Tasting Awards at the International Spirits Challenge (ISC) 2019: the highlight trophy as “Liqueur Producer of the Year” and the trophy in the liqueurs category for Cherry Heering. A trophy is the highest accolade a brand can receive from the ISC and is regarded as one of the most respected and sought-after awards in the drinks industry. ISC trophy winners represent the very best in their specific category and are selected by an expert panel of more than 50 world renowned specialist judges. De Kuyper Royal Distillers was named Liqueur Producer of the Year after a fantastic set of results in 2019. One trophy, two gold, six silver and a bronze medal make it hard to argue a case against the Dutch company winning this award.
“It is a such an honour for us to receive two trophies at this year’s International Spirits Challenge. This result underlines the supreme quality of our liquids and acknowledges our expertise as well as our daily effort to distil the best liqueurs in the world so that everyone can enjoy delicious cocktails,” comments Mark de Witte, CEO of De Kuyper.
De Kuyper Royal Distillers is the world’s largest premium cocktail liqueur brand with De Kuyper Liqueurs being the backbone of the company. Extracts from high-quality ingredients and botanicals produced in the De Kuyper distillery in Schiedam, Netherlands, make the range of Essential and Variations Liqueurs stand out from the rest. With De Kuyper Liqueurs, creating classic cocktails as well as modern taste interpretations is easy and simple – for bartenders and every cocktail enthusiast alike. The 13 Essential Liqueurs consist of must have liqueurs for the most famous cocktails such as Margarita or Blue Lagoon. The 18 Variations offer inspiration to modify traditional cocktails into numerous variations of personal preference like a Watermelon Margarita.
Enabling everybody to mix great-tasting cocktails applies to Cherry Heering as well. Cherry Heering is essential for some of the most legendary cocktails and is therefore an indispensable player in most of the world’s 50 Best Bars. Created over 200 years ago, Cherry Heering is probably the oldest cherry liqueur in the world and quickly grew in popularity from its beginnings. It adds extravagance and the special extra to some of the most legendary cocktails of all time.
Now in its 24th year, the ISC is a truly global competition receiving more than 1,700 entries from nearly 70 countries worldwide. The competition is based on a rigorous and independent judging process which serves to encourage the high calibre of spirits and packaging designs entered into the competition each year. It is supported by many of the world’s leading spirits producers as the international standard for quality and excellence.
“This prestigious award will help us to convince even more consumers and bartenders of our first-class liqueurs that are the essence of great-tasting cocktails. Our global company vision is to ‘Own the Cocktail’. We want to show people across the world that making delicious cocktails does not have to be complex or difficult. With our premium liqueurs and our easy recipes everybody can build, shake or stir a great cocktail in seconds,” explains Albert de Heer, Marketing Director Global Brands at De Kuyper Royal Distillers.
