Hand sanitizers for the people being still there for us

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic we all experience one of the most challenging times of our lives. We are all in this together and it was never more important to support each other. As a Dutch family owned company, we want to make our contribution to support those who are affected by the pandemic. With our expertise in the production of alcoholic beverages we offer our support by producing hand sanitizers and hand gel.

325 years distilling experience

One of the effects of the coronavirus crisis is the lack of hand sanitizers that is essential to minimize the risk of infection. “De Kuyper Royal Distillers has 325 years of experience in distilling. That is why it felt natural to support in this crisis by using our expertise, by the production of hand sanitizers and hand gel. By this, we aim to contribute to the fight against the Corona virus”, says Mark de Witte, CEO De Kuyper Royal Distillers.

Over 100,000 bottles produced

In no time, we were able to produce hand sanitizers in our De Kuyper facilities and distribute them to Dutch healthcare sector and retail that is still open for consumers, such as supermarkets and liquor stores. Despite the shortage in materials, we have been able to produce over 100,000 bottles. As De Kuyper Royal Distillers, we will do everything we can to continue our support to the healthcare and the so called “vital sector”, also in the coming months. We are proud that our people and our company managed to organize all this in these challenging circumstances.

Many requests for help

The first 10.000 bottles of De Kuyper hand sanitizers were distributed amongst healthcare institutions and liquor stores for their employees. “We get many requests for our hand sanitizers. From healthcare institutions but also from retail, we receive many phone calls with a request for help”, says Albert de Heer, Global Marketing Manager De Kuyper Royal Distillers. We now have managed to scale up our production considerably in order to better meet the urgent need for hand sanitizers. De Kuyper hand sanitizers are produced according to the WHO recommendation that requires 80% alcohol in the final product.

From the Red Cross to Albert Heijn supermarkets

Part of our hand sanitizers are donated and supplied to the Dutch healthcare sector. De Kuyper Royal Distillers supplies hand sanitizer to national hospitals, general practice centres, hospices and other healthcare institutions in the Netherlands. Furthermore, we will soon contribute to the supply of hand sanitizers for the Red Cross. We also deliver to business partners in the vital sector, such as the supermarkets of Albert Heijn, Lidl, Plus and Dirk van de Broek. Not for sale to consumers, but to help guaranteeing the crucial hygiene in supermarkets to help protecting employees and consumers. As De Kuyper Royal Distillers, we are happy to support these sectors with the delivery of our hand sanitizers.
